George Floyd’s murderer, Derek Chauvin, is reportedly in the hospital after he was assaulted by a fellow inmate. Apparently, the disgraced ex-cop got shanked.
Reportedly, Chauvin, 47, got stabbed on Friday (Nov. 24) in Arizona.
The attack happened at the Federal Correctional Institution, Tucson, a medium-security prison that has been plagued by security lapses and staffing shortages. The person was not authorized to publicly discuss details of the attack and spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity.
The Bureau of Prisons confirmed that an incarcerated person was assaulted at FCI Tucson at around 12:30 p.m. local time Friday. In a statement, the agency said responding employees contained the incident and performed “life-saving measures” before the inmate, who it did not name, was taken to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Chauvin Chauvin is serving a 22-year sentence for second degree murder and a 21-year sentence for violating Floyd’s civil rights.

Earlier today (July 6) Paramount Pictures released the first teaser trailer to its Bob Marley biopic, One Love, starring Kingsley Ben-Adir as the man who came straight outta Kingston, Jamaica and made his way into everyone’s soul with his timeless music. Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green (King Richard) and produced by Marley’s son, Ziggy Marley, the trailer to Bob Marley: One Love showcases Bob Marley’s ascension to superstardom while also revealing the obstacles and personal struggles who went through on his way to the top of the music charts.
Whether he was laying down classic tracks in the studio or dodging bullets in his hometown of Trenchtown in Kingston, the trailer to One Love promises to delve into the life and times of Bob Marley that many may be familiar with but others had no idea occurred.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ziggy Marley explained what he wanted to do with this film and why it means so much to him.
While many musical biopics span multiple years of a subject’s life, Bob Marley: One Love is focused on a very specific stretch leading up to Marley’s performance at the One Love Peace Concert in 1978, which happened amidst a violent political crisis in Jamaica.
“We knew from the very beginning that we didn’t want to do a cradle-to-grave story,” Green says. “At this particular period in time, ’76-77, a lot was happening in Bob’s life. It was a period of great creative genius, but he was also dealing with a lot, including cancer. He was challenged as a man, as a father and husband, as a musician. So it’s a snapshot of his life that speaks to his entire life. There are flashes to his earlier life and childhood, but it’s not about when he was born and when he died. We felt this movie was more about how his music lives on and how his message continues to spread.”

Since 2020’s lockdown, Verzuz battles have become a big part of hip-hop culture. From legendary producers Boi-1da taking on Hit-Boy to New Yorkers Fabolous and Jadakiss going head-to-head to even soul groups Earth, Wind & Fire going up against the Isley Brothers — getting on the platform is a big deal for any artist.
In a recently Apple Music interview with Busta Rhymes, he’s told there are two valid competitors that might be able to take him on in a Verzuz: Jay-Z or Missy Elliott.
“See, there’s never a Missy option,” Busta replied. “The reason why I can’t ever do a Verzuz or compete with Missy on a challenging level is ’cause that’s my twin. I’m Missy and she’s Busta Rhymes. I will never ever ever ever ever because I love her so much, I can’t talk my shit the way I would want to in a Verzuz. I love her too much and I hold her in a regard that’s so crazy.”

Update: On Saturday, June 25, Jones dropped the full video for the song titled “Summer Collection” which “was shot by the From The Block Performance media platform” (see below).
The quasi-beef is on, and Jim Jones and Pusha T find themselves in a rap feud. Capo has dropped a teaser of a freestyle or song (however you want to call it) with bars aimed at Push A Ton, but the reaction from Twitter hasn’t been quite the home run he was swinging for.
As a quick catch-up, the tension started back in late April when Jim Jones was adamant in saying that Pusha T was not a “Top 50” rapper. “He’s nice as sh*t. He could rap his ass off, but what has he done?” said Jones in an interview with Rap Caviar at the time. “I don’t know too many n****s in this game that was leaning towards being like Pusha T. Pusha T don’t hold no weight out here. He not pushing no sh*t out here.”
Hey, the man is entitled to his opinion, and after a few days of the usual social media banter, it was soon forgotten. Flash forward to Louis Vuitton’s recent runway show, its first under new creative director Pharrell Williams, and an unreleased Clipse song was played that seemingly had bars aimed at Jones. “Beware of my name, that there’s delegate/ You know I know where you’re delicate/ Crush you to pieces, I’ll hum a breath of it/ I will close your heaven for the hell of it/ You think it’d be valor amongst veterans/ I’m watching your fame escape relevance/ We all in a room but here’s the elephant/ You chasing a feature out of your element,” spits Brick Flair on the track.

Initially, the Dipset rapper laughed it off, literally.
But on Friday (June 23) a clip started floating online of Jones in the streets (with a hanging mic) recording a new track over the same instrumental of the still unreleased Clipse joint with bars clearly aimed at Push. Shout to to Arby’s.
If we’re keeping it a bean, Jones has managed to create some dope hits and solid albums, but he’s never been considered as highly-skilled an MC as Push. However, he has held his own in various feuds with rappers over the years, including Jay-Z. But, Pusha T is a whole different animal when it comes to battle bars; just ask Drake.

Rap “beef” mostly bores me now but there are maybe ten rappers ever who could go bar for bar with Pusha-T without looking insane. One of them is dead, one of them is Beyoncé’s husband, but more importantly, none of them are Jim Jones.
